An extended node-place model for comparative studies of transit-oriented development

چکیده

A commonly used quantitative method for evaluating the status quo in transit-oriented development (TOD) is node-place (NP) model. However, NP-derived models seldom consider compactness of station areas and their interactions with urban structures. This work extended NP model by introducing two concepts vibrancy. Moreover, a scoring approach was proposed to measure overall TOD level facilitate inter-city comparison. conducted comparative study megacities, Guangzhou Shenzhen, found that Shenzhen better performance. When examining specific dimensions performance using clustering methods, we significant discrepancies both cluster characteristics spatial distributions, exhibiting core-periphery pattern polycentric structure. We observed correlation between index vibrancy cities. contributes more targeted policy supporting decision-making process.
